Browns launches “Family Affair” the initiative that unites Creative Community

Browns, the London-based retailer, has just launched its new “Family Affair” initiative. The project will aim to provide a platform for emerging creatives, with a number of editors invited to curate and commission content alongside their own friends, family and regular collaborators.

Family Affair aims to include creatives from different disciplines, including image creators, designers, producers, models, stylists, and activists.

In the first week, the poet and activist Kai-Isaiah Jamal will participate alongside the designer Charles Jeffrey, the singer and chef Denai Moore with the filmmaker Nadira Amrani, the producer Sweyn-j and the image-creating duo Pedro Ferreira and Enantios Dromos.

Family Affair launches a series of quarterly initiatives for 2020 that aim to celebrate how Browns has advanced in the fashion industry through chapters representing the Future, Icons and Seduction. This first chapter aims to show how the future brings three months of brand stories and creative exchanges in partnership with a generation looking ahead. Tyler Psarras, Brand Engagement Director stated: “Our 2020 chapters were set out to span and inspire all creatively driven brand facets from online storytelling to in-store installations and product collaborations. We are creating engaging content that supports our community of creatives and designers which in turn inspires our customers and audience”.

In addition to launching “Family Affair” to support creatives in difficult times, Browns has also announced its support for the BFC Foundation’s Covid Crisis Fundation. Holli Rogers, CEO of Browns, claimed that “More than ever connectivity, collaboration and unity are key. For this reason we are acutely aware of the economic pressures these smaller brands are under and in an attempt to help minimise the impact of these uncertain times, we will not cancel orders. The team and I at Browns are here to talk, listen and find solutions with all of our brands.”
