The British fashion company has announced that it is part of “a program dedicated to activities that the fashion house has planned to carry out this year in China”. The luxury firm will move its main catwalk that will be previously presented at London Fashion Week on February 17 to the city of Shanghai on April 23.
On the catwalk, which will include both womenswear and menswear, will include “new proposals designed specifically for the event” and, in addition, can only be purchased in the Chinese market.
“Boosting the commitment and inspiring luxury consumers in China is a key objective for Burberry in 2020”, the company explained with this initiative to be held in Shanghai. Its expansion and growth in the Asian market has promoted different initiatives such as a capsule collection inspired by the Lunar New Year as well as a new version of its online video game in honor of the Rat’s Year.
Meanwhile, Ricardo Tisci, creative director of Burberry, said he is ready to present his work internationally. “My first years at Burberry I focused on establishing and defining my new identity for the house. Now we are ready to move this vision out of London in new and exciting way”. In addition, he added that it is the first time he will present a catwalk in China. “It is a country that has always supported me a lot and that moment will be the culmination of all the work that the teams and I have been doing since I started. It will be a tribute to our collections and our new attitude in one of the most innovative and inspiring cities in the world”.
